Very rare portrait of famous American Indian photographer, D.F. Barry. Photo is unsigned, but has Barry's imprinted name on it. About 6 x 7 Oval shaped in rare studio cover that also has Barry's imprinted name on it. This is the only photo of Barry I have seen. Photo ca. late 1800s. Excellent condition, some weakness at folds of cover.

Headquarters US Geological Survey New Mexico photo from Ft. Wingate, New Mexico-1881. Some edge chipping to mount, but photo is in very good condition. About 10 x 6 inches, depicting survey party in camp. Very interesting and early photo of southwestern activity.

(WHITE RIVER MASSACRE SURVIVOR) Cabinet photo, about 6 x 4 inches, of "The only living thing that escaped in teh White River Massacre, now serving in Troop D 5th US Cavalry". Very nice photo of a saddled horse claimed to be the sole survivor of an Indian "massacre". Backmark shows "Eureka Studio, Durango, Colo". Minor edge wear, otherwise very good condition.
